The Story -
Within seconds of Dina Baker's first note, every conversation in the room ends — and the same voice carries clean to the back of a festival field. That's not stage presence. That's a voice. Backed by The King Stan Band, she leads a powerhouse six‑piece band delivering soul‑infused Americana and contemporary blues with the energy and musicianship of a headline act.
Founded in 2007 by the late blues legend Stan Stroman — who shared stages with Wilson Pickett, James Brown, Junior Walker, and Gregg Allman — The King Stan Band built a reputation across Colorado, earning Colorado's Best Blues Band and Best Horn Section honors and nominations for Best Vocalist and Best Rhythm Section during its first era. Following Stan's passing, Dina Baker took up the lead, guiding the band into its next chapter — a sound that sits between Brandi Carlile's storytelling, Tedeschi Trucks' soul, and Lake Street Dive's rhythmic warmth.

Their forthcoming debut album, Weighted Keys, anchored by lead single "The Tide" — the band's 2026 NPR Tiny Desk Contest entry — captures the horn‑driven, emotionally honest sound of this new era. Their album-release show recently sold out Denver's Ophelia's at 400 capacity.
