The King Stan Band - History
Decades of amazing music
The King Stan Band has been a beloved part of Colorado’s music scene since 2007, lighting up stages across the Rocky Mountain region—from the Durango Blues Train to the Fort Collins Music Experience. With powerhouse vocals from frontman Robert "King Stan" Stroman, the band quickly racked up accolades, earning titles such as Colorado’s Best Blues Band, Best Male Vocalist, Best Rhythm Section, and Best Horn Section.
Tragically, the band was shaken by the untimely passing of their leader and dear friend, Robert Stroman. A true bluesman to the core, Stan didn’t just play the blues—he lived it. From performing at the legendary Apollo Theater at the age of 14, to touring with icons like Wilson Pickett, James Brown, Junior Walker & the All Stars, and Gregg Allman, Stan’s life was steeped in music history.
Even in his final days, Stan’s passion never waned—he famously snuck out of hospice to play one last show with the band. His final wish? That the band would live on. And that's exactly what we're doing—keeping the spirit and soul of the King Stan Band alive. In Stan's own words "We hope the music puts a little pep in your step and a little glide in your stride..."
